Important Compatibility Information
This is an exit-only, non-fire-rated panic device. Do not use it on a labeled fire-door opening that requires fire exit hardware. Those openings generally require a 99EO-F configuration and compatible listed components.
Before ordering, confirm the door width, thickness, material, frame preparation, strike application and exterior-entry requirements. Double-door applications can require a compatible removable mullion or a different exit-device configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does EO mean?
EO means Exit Only. Pressing the interior pushpad retracts the latch for free egress. Exterior operating trim is not included.
Is this Von Duprin 99EO fire rated?
No. This configuration is panic-rated hardware. A labeled fire-door opening generally requires the corresponding 99EO-F fire exit device and compatible listed components.
Can it be installed on a left-hand or right-hand door?
Yes. The standard rim device is non-handed and can be used on either handing when the opening and door preparation are compatible.
Can the four-foot device be shortened?
Yes. It is field sizable within Von Duprin's permitted limits. Verify the opening dimensions and manufacturer installation template before cutting.
Does it include exterior lever trim?
No. Compatible Von Duprin outside trim must be purchased separately if keyed or controlled exterior entry is required.
What does hex dogging do?
Hex dogging holds the latch retracted so the door can operate in push-pull mode during permitted periods. Dogging is not used on fire exit hardware.
Can it work with an access-control system?
Yes, when paired with the correct electrical option or compatible retrofit hardware, power supply and system design. Contact Central Security before ordering for card access, electric latch retraction, request-to-exit monitoring or automatic-door integration.
Need Help Confirming Compatibility?
Commercial exit hardware must match the door, frame, life-safety requirements and desired entry function. Contact Central Security with door and frame photos, opening dimensions and the required exterior operation if you need help confirming the correct configuration.
