Technician Tip: For easier programming, use a Honeywell 6160 alphanumeric keypad. A fixed-English keypad may not show enough information for full zone programming, wireless enrollment, and troubleshooting.

4. Basic Wiring Overview

The VISTA-20P supports multiple wiring methods depending on the device type and supervision requirements. Door contacts, window contacts, motions, glass breaks, smoke detectors, and panic devices must be wired according to the panel manual and local code.

6. First-Time Programming Steps

Step 1 — Power Up the System

Complete all keypad, zone, siren, communicator, and power wiring. Then connect the backup battery and AC transformer according to the manual.
